Raising Awareness and Funds

The PNC Milwaukee Marathon is excited to be connecting with local and national charities to help raise both awareness and funds for each organization. The charity program supports charity fundraising by using the PNC Milwaukee Marathon as a platform. The program strengthens ties between the running community and charities thereby assisting the charities in providing much needed financial support.

This program is limited to selected organizations. We are in the process of selecting charities to participate for this year. If you are a charity looking to be a part of the PNC Milwaukee Marathon, please fill out this form and we will send you information on the program requirements and an application. The deadline is April 30.

If you are a runner/walker who is interested in taking part in the PNC Milwaukee Marathon’s charity program, please read carefully.

Thank you for considering running to benefit a charity. We are excited you want to use your abilities to run on behalf of one of our affiliated non-profit organizations.

With every step you take and every dollar you raise, you can help organizations doing important work in our communities, and touch the lives of those in need. Runners begin the training season with goals for personal bests in their marathon times or just the experience to feel good and benefit a charity. However, there are some things to consider before signing up to run for a charity:

  • Individuals fundraising for a contributing charity must purchase their race entry through the PNC Milwaukee Marathon. It is left to the discretion of the contributing charity as to whether or not the organization will cover the cost of the race participant’s registration fee. The PNC Milwaukee Marathon does not facilitate the payment of race entries for contributing charities.
  • Runner race registration fees are used to cover event costs; administrative and operational costs. Race registration fees are not donations given to participating charities.
  • Runner must commit to a minimum fundraising of $200 for the 5K, 10K and half marathon or $300 for marathon.
  • You can sign up to join a charity team as part of the race registration process. If you have already registered and wish to join a charity team, please contact us at info@runmilwaukeemarathon.com and indicate which team you are interested in joining.

Some of the perks for joining a charity team may include VIP tent access, training and fundraising support, and apparel.

Share the Power of a Wish

Madison is an 8-year-old from Milwaukee who’s living with a neurological condition. She enjoys playing with Barbie dolls, playing games on the Wii, riding her bike and playing outside. She also loves the Disney princesses. She wishes to be a Princess at Walt Disney World® Resort this winter.

As a participant of the Milwaukee Marathon, you can help make wishes come true for children like Madison who are living with life-threatening medical conditions. We have partnered with Make-A-Wish Wisconsin to help grant Madison’s wish to be a Princess at Walt Disney World® Resort. To be part of her wish, please make your donation today.

There are more than 350 wishes like Madison’s currently in progress throughout Wisconsin. Last year, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin granted a record-breaking 378 wishes – more than a wish a day and more than 6,000 wishes have been granted in Wisconsin since inception in 1984. To learn more about Make-A-Wish, please visit WisconsinWish.org.

You can be a hero to Madison and other wish kids like her. For every mile you run the week leading up to the PNC Milwaukee Marathon, challenge yourself to donate $1 to Make-A-Wish and invite your friends and family to join you. Simply donate here
